Workshop 3: Sustainable Manufacturing, Moving Forward

February 22, 2018, 9am-4pm EST, Location TBD

This workshop will focus on moving forward in a successful way by incorporating sustainable manufacturing principles. Participants will first learn where Kentucky has had some success in improving environmental performance. Companies will also share their approaches to sustainable product development and learn from others. Improving energy efficiency, water conservation and wastewater management will be discussed, as they present opportunities for cost savings and business advantage.

Participants will also be exposed to success stories related to the technical approaches that have been discussed throughout the Kentucky Sustainable Manufacturing Initiative, and will be engaged in a discussion of plans for being successful with sustainable manufacturing moving forward.

Topics to be addressed will include:

– Kentucky energy & environment successes
– Energy efficiency & energy management
– Water conservation and wastewater management
– Kentucky sustainable manufacturing case study examples
